WO Airport Interior A/S

Experience smart security screening lanes for airports of all sizes. Danish company, WO, presents its 3rd generation security lanes. WO offers unique flexibility with a module-based approach at competitive prices, without compromising high quality standards and aesthetics. WO’s smart lanes can be configured to meet high flow rates in the larger airports with automated tray return systems, and adapted to meet challenging footprint demands at the smaller regional airports with semi-automatic and cost-efficient lanes. Smart software interface and ergonomic features enhance the working environment for the security agents. Enhanced passenger experience created with unique interior design styles that are welcoming with over 20 available options.

What makes your products / services stand out?

WO’s design philosophy it to deliver robust systems that are user-centric, scalable and thereby future-proof; systems that are designed and constructed for great robust quality. The system is built to support good agronomy for the security agents that operate the system daily. For example, height adjustable tables can be incorporated for re-check stations to which trays are not lifted, but rolled. Great amount of details was put towards easy and effortless access to the systems in terms of maintenance and cleaning. Not only is it saving time but the general need for service is reduced with limited wear and tear parts. Our remote unit will even allow our engineers to bridge access to the lane and in fact instruct the maintenance person on the floor. Design elements which include colour and material can enhance the passengers’ overall experience. To accommodate that choice, we offer a large variety of high-quality durable design elements, including linoleum cladding. For the airport’s management our software system will provide statistics and relevant KPI’s. Also, lane adjustments can be made with the help of the intuitive interface on the operator’s panel.

What brings you to the EXPO this year?

It is without doubt that decision makers at the congress, who discuss airport landside and airside security, are very instrumental audience to engage in dialogue with about all spectrums of security. We always view development as co-creation and can attribute much of our product development over the years to the close dialogue with our customers. WO is represented in the ACI Security Committee held in conjunction with the congress, where relevant topics are being addressed. Tel Aviv offers therefore a fantastic opportunity to bridge both worlds.

Why should visitors come to your stand and what can they expect to see?

We would like our visitors to interact with our building blocks and have a glimpse of how the security process can be optimised, already now with future proof solutions. We will also share new and untraditional design solutions that, while utilising our core technology, truly dot the i’s and cross the t’s. We will demonstrate what scalability means in practice; when an airport needs to relocate its existing lanes, add a new scanner, and remotely monitor its lanes. Specifically, we can identify the prerequisites that have to be taken into consideration to secure a scalable solution.

Which technology or trend do you think will have the biggest impact on the air transport industry in 2019?

We expect a myriad of technologies, that are data-driven and which rely on connectivity to provide a significant stepping stone that will impact the way we manage and experience air travel. Specifically, in our field of airport check-point security further advancements in smart security, apart from our own innovative security lanes, a risk-based screening will tie in with overall passenger experience. It will comprise the new CT scanners, biometrics and AI (artificial intelligence). No single technology alone can provide the silver bullet; when embedded in an intricate web of eco-systems it will sustain itself
